Women who had experienced a new sense of freedom and independance were not ready to leave the
workplace and to return to the homemaker roles that had been their only option before the war. And,new inventions were releasing women from many of the time-consuming "homemaking" responsibilities.

Born in the state Texas in 1890, grown up in Abilene, Kansas, Eisenhower was the third of the seven sons that his Father and Mother had. He excelled in sports in high school, and received an invitation to West Point. He was stationed in Texas as the second lieutenant, he met a woman named Mamie Geneva Doud, which he married in 1916. In his army career he excelled in the staff assignments that were said to be done by his Major. After the War that was fought he began working as a President of Columbia University. After many things that happened he began negotiating from military strength, he also tried to reduce the strains of the Cold War. In the year 1953 he signed a truce and brought peace along the border of South Korea. Many things happened after this achievement he died by a long illness that he suffered from on the date March 28,1969.

Federal income tax was withheld from workers pay and sent directly to the U.S. Treasury
The number of taxpayers jumped from 4 million in 1939 to 42.7 million in 1945.
In 1944, Congress passed the Servicemens ReadJustment Act. The G.I. Bill, as it was called,
made low-cost loans to veterans who wanted to buy homes or start businesses.
Racial segregation was no longer acceptable to returning African American Soldiers.

Hoover Dam
The Hoover Dam was built in the Black Canyon of the Colorado River. The Hoover Dam is a Dam that forms the border between the two states of Nevada and Arizona. It is known to be the world’s largest dam , Hoover Dam brings much needed and wanted water and power to the Southwest. The Dam is 726.4 feet high and 1,244 feet across the top. No one has ever been buried in the Dam.The Construction of the Hoover Dam began September 30 of 1930 and the last concrete was poured in 1935. The Hoover Dam is ranked the 18th highest in the world. The Hoover Dam is a system or a part of system that provides water to over 25 million people in the southwest United States. It also has 17 generators that gives it the capacity to make 2,000 megawatts of electricity.
